The parents of a black woman allegedly tortured by six white men and women in Logan County are lashing out at the local prosecutor for not demanding harsher penalties.

Matthew and Carmen Williams held a news conference Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Charleston to voice their frustration with Logan County Prosecutor Brian Abraham.

Their 20-year-old daughter Megan Williams was held captive for days last summer, forced to eat animal feces, sexually assaulted and stabbed.

The Williamses said the sentence was especially light for 49-year-old Frankie Brewster, who faces 10-25 years for second-degree sexual assault. They wanted her to serve a life sentence for kidnapping.

Abraham says that given Brewster's age, her sentence could effectively be a life sentence.
