Morgantown police have found a body in the Monongahela River while searching for a missing Chilean woman visiting West Virginia University.

Police found a woman's body in the river north of Star City on Thursday. The body has not been identified.

Carmen Gloria Sanchez Gutierrez, 36, hasn't been seen since Monday. She was an apprentice in WVU's "Adventure WV" outdoor orientation program and also took intensive English classes. Gutierrez is a tour guide in Chili.

Police stepped up the search for Gutierrez Thursday but said they had not turned up any clues about what might have happened to her.
