About 300 people turned out to help Hino Motors Manufacturing USA Inc. celebrate the grand opening of its Williamstown plant.
Monday's event included a tour of the plant's assembly line and a display of several Hino trucks.
Attendees included Gov. Joe Manchin, U.S. Rep. Alan Mollohan and Shoji Kondo, chairman of the board of Hino Motors Ltd.
U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller had planned to attend the ceremony. But Hino said Rockefeller was in Washington, D.C., to participate in the Senate's consideration of economic recovery legislation.
Hino's first vehicle rolled off the assembly line last November and production is now in full swing.
