Leaders from across West Virginia will gather in Morgantown later this month to discuss coal's role in state and national energy policies.

The October 15 event at West Virginia University's National Research Center for Coal & Energy is being hosted by the center and The West Virginia Coal Forum.

Scheduled speakers include Sen. Jay Rockefeller, interim WVU President Peter Magrath, state Division of Energy Director Jeff Herholdt, CONSOL Energy Vice President of Research Steve Winberg, West Virginia Coal Association Senior Vice President Chris Hamilton and state Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Randy Huffman.
