A Kentucky man has pleaded guilty to a charge stemming from the abduction of an 11-year-old Wheeling girl.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Joshua Ridings pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court in Wheeling to crossing a state line with the intent to engage in a sexual act with a person under the age of 12. The girl was taken into Belmont County, Ohio, and sexually assaulted in February 2007.

Under the plea agreement, Ridings would spend 40 years in federal prison, would waive all his appeals and agree to lifetime supervision by the U.S. Probation Office.

The 29-year-old Owensboro, Kentucky resident escaped from Indiana's Warrick County jail earlier this year but was captured in Kentucky two days later.

Kentucky authorities have charged him in a 2007 attack on a woman there.
