An April 27 trial on state charges is scheduled for a Kentucky man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 11-year-old Wheeling girl.

Joshua Michael Ridings of Owensboro, Kentucky pleaded guilty in October to a federal charge of crossing a state line with the intent to engage in a sexual act with a person under the age of 12. The 29-year-old Ridings was sentenced January 11 to 40 years in a federal prison.

Ridings faces state charges of kidnapping and first- and second-degree assault.

Authorities say the girl was taken from Wheeling into Belmont County, Ohio, and sexually assaulted in February 2007.
