A four-day symposium commemorating the 150th anniversary of abolitionist John Brown's burial at his Adirondack farm will include a former leader of a violent 1960s radical group as a featured speaker.

Organizers of the event "John Brown Coming Home" say activist and Northwestern University law professor Bernardine Dohrn will be among the panelists discussing Brown's legacy during the December 5 session in Lake Placid.

Dohrn was a founder of the Weathermen, a radical group that carried out bombings at several government sites in the early 1970s. No one was injured.

Brown was buried at his farm just outside Lake Placid six days after he was hanged on December 2, 1859 for treason for leading a raid on the federal arsenal at what is now Harper's Ferry, West Virginia.
