NAACP Convention

The NAACP's West Virginia branch will choose a new president this weekend during its annual conference.

James Tolbert is stepping down after serving as the group's president for the past 20 years.

This year's conference will be held Friday and Saturday in Beckley.

Clifford Washington, president of the Raleigh County NAACP branch, says the annual gathering gives the state's 21 branches an opportunity to discuss problems and ideas for the future.
