MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -- A Bunker Hill man has been sentenced to life in prison for felony child abuse.

Media outlets report a Berkeley County circuit judge sentenced 29-year-old Nathan A. Snyder on Thursday as a repeat offender under the state's recidivist statute.

A jury had found Snyder was previously convicted twice on felony drunken driving charges.

Snyder was convicted of four felony counts of child abuse causing injury in February.

The victims were an 8-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy and two 14-year-old boys. Court documents show Snyder was convicted of punching one child, shooting another with a BB gun, choking a third child and beating a fourth with a metal spoon on the leg.

The sentence by Judge John Yoder will allow Snyder to become eligible for parole after 15 years.
