(4) Virginia 89, Towson 55
Trey Murphy III knocked down six three-pointers and scored 21 points while Sam Hauser scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds in his UVA debut. The Cavaliers improve to 1-0 overall and now prepare to to play San Francisco Friday (11/27) at 11:30 a.m.
Virginia Tech 77, Radford 62
The Hokies were led in scoring by Keve Aluma, who poured in 19 points in the victory. Nahiem Alleyne scored 14 points for Virginia Tech while Hunter Cattoor added 12 points on four three-pointers. Virginia Tech returns to action against Temple Saturday (11/28) at 8 p.m.
(15) West Virginia 79, South Dakota State 71
Mile McBride scored 23 points while Sean McNeil (16 points) and Taz Sherman (14 points) also scored in double-figures to help the Mountaineers avoid an upset in the season opener. WVU returns to action with another game Thursday.
