Harrisonburg re-elects Mayor Deanna Reed, Vice Mayor Sal Romero

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) — Harrisonburg City Council elected a mayor and vice mayor during its first meeting of 2021 on Monday morning.

A press release from the City of Harrisonburg says Deanna Reed has been re-elected by Council members to serve as Harrisonburg’s mayor. Sal Romero was re-elected to serve as vice mayor.

Reed and Romero will hold their positions for two years.

The release says City Council also moved to reappoint City Manager Eric Campbell, City Attorney Chris Brown and City Clerk Pam Ulmer. In addition, City Council appointed members to a number of commissions and boards to research and study important topics, hear from residents and provide recommendations to City Council.

The next City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 12. All meetings are virtual at this time and can be viewed live here or on the local Public Education Government Channel.
