HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) — On Friday, Governor Ralph Northam announced that all Virginia school divisions should make in-person learning options available by March 15. Harrisonburg City Public Schools says the school division already complies with Northam’s guidance, and no changes need to be made to its updated Return to School Plan.

Harrisonburg City Public Schools (HCPS) has offered in-person learning to identified students since August 2020.

According to a statement on the Harrisonburg City Public Schools’ website, the school division will move forward with its plans to welcome more students into schools on March 22.

The statement also says the school division has already begun planning for additional summer learning opportunities for students.
