SHENANDOAH, Va. (WHSV) - The new Cedar Creek Bridge on Route 623 (Fromans Road/Coal Mine Road) is scheduled to open to traffic on Friday, May 14, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

The bridge is at the Frederick-Shenandoah County line southwest of the town of Stephens City. Route 623 traffic had been detoured since construction started last spring, and the detour will be lifted when the bridge opens.

VDOT says when the bridge opens, drivers should still be alert for possible traffic restrictions during the final stages of construction.

Additional information about the project can be found here.
