LURAY, Va. (WHSV) - Page Memorial Hospital Family Medicine and Page Memorial Hospital Family and Internal Medicine have merged into one operation.

Dr. Dave Switzer, Medical Director of Population Health and a local family doctor with Valley Health, said during the pandemic they realized there was not a need for two primary care practices across from each other.

He said the consolidation allows for more clinical experience to be under one roof.

Switzer said respiratory care has also been brought back to the facilities after being relocated to other spaces during the pandemic.

After a tough year, Switzer said it is nice to have everyone back together.

“The last year has felt very fragmented and isolated in a lot of ways. Kind of similarly to my philosophy of primary care being best done with the patient in the room, collaborating with your colleagues is best done that way too I believe. Now there is a much greater opportunity to do that,” Switzer said.

New patients are welcome and walk-in appointments have resumed. Telehealth options are also available.

Daily hours have also been extended.
