Harrisonburg set to repair Water Street Parking Deck
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - After a car slammed into the side of the Water Street Parking Deck in downtown Harrisonburg last Friday, the city is working on arrangements to get it fixed.
After further investigation, city officials say the damage to the structure was cosmetic and it’s safe for anyone to park there.
“The damage really was just to the design façade, there’s no structural damage to the parking deck and it is safe to park there,” said Mike Parks, director of communications for the City of Harrisonburg. “Right now we do have some barriers up just where the wall has been removed so we can put a new wall up in its place, but there’s really no damage to the deck.”
Parks says while there is no official time yet on when the wall will be fixed, they hope that it will be in the next few weeks.
