Pepsi-Cola Student Athlete of the Week: Jaden Click
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - Jaden Click is a standout senior at Mountain View High School.
“When you’re pushing your body, your mind wants to quit but your body can keep going,” said Click.
As a baseball player, Click is known for his mental toughness under pressure, which has helped him stand out against top teams in the Valley.
“If you have a strong mental approach, you can outshine players who might be better physically,” he added.
Click started playing baseball at a young age, after watching Adam Jones and the Orioles at Camden Yards.
“I love the way he played the game,” said Click. “My parents told me I had to join the Boy Scouts or start playing sports so I chose to play baseball.”
Since then, Click has been a star player on the diamond. Last spring, he earned First Team All-District and First Team All-Region honors while playing for the Generals.
“He was one of the first ones I remember clicking with,” said head baseball coach Brady Kibler.
This fall, Click will be heading to Lehigh Carbon Community College in Pennslyvania, where he will continue his baseball career while pursuing a degree in sports management.
“The sky is the limit because of his work ethic,” said Kibler. “He’s very humble and willing to learn.”
This summer, Click will continue sharpening his mental and physical skills before his next chapter with the Cougars.
“I’m excited to see a new part of the world,” he added. “I think I’ll miss my family but it will be a good experience.”
