Waynesboro police seeks public’s assistance with shots fired investigation
WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) - The Waynesboro Police Department is investigating reports of shots fired after multiple calls came in at 12:12 a.m. Sunday and is asking for the public’s help.
WPD Captain Jamie Dunn said officers initially responded to reports of gunfire around B Street and Ivanhoe Avenue before receiving additional information that led them to 4th Street and South Jackson Avenue. Officers found a residence that had been damaged and discovered a vehicle that had fled the area prior to their arrival, Dunn said. The suspected damage to the residence is believed to be related to the initial call, he added.
There were no reported injuries, and the case is still active and ongoing. WPD asks anyone with information or surveillance footage about the incident to contact Corporal R. Boyce at 540-942-6684.
This is a developing story. WHSV will provide updates on air and online as more details become available.
