PENDLETON COUNTY, W.Va. (WHSV) - A juvenile suspect is in custody after the Pendleton County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in relation to the double homicide of a husband and wife outside of Franklin, according to a PCSO release.

PCSO arrested the juvenile male last Friday for his suspected involvement with the double homicide that happened July 10. The juvenile was taken into custody without incident, according to the release. PCSO did not disclose the identity of the juvenile.

When police had arrived at the crime scene, they found the husband and wife dead with gunshot wounds, PCSO previously told WHSV.

“The arrest is the result of relentless investigative work by PCSO with the assistance of West Virginia State Police, Charleston Police, ATF, the West Virginia Fusion Center, West Virginia Department of Natural Resources Police, and Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office,” the release said.

According to West Virginia state laws, if the juvenile is 14 years old or over, he could be charged as an adult due to the severity of the crime. WHSV reached out to April Mallow, Pendleton County’s prosecuting attorney, about the case and asked whether she would push for the juvenile to be tried as an adult if he is 14 years old or over. Mallow said she will provide no comment at this time.

This is a developing story. WHSV will provide updates on air and online as more details become available.
