Valley native Spencer Hatcher cancels shows at Rockingham County Fair

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - Country artist Spencer Hatcher announced Tuesday he has canceled multiple upcoming shows, including scheduled performances at the Rockingham County Fair next week.

In addition to a music festival show in Ohio on Friday, Hatcher was scheduled to perform next Monday and Tuesday as part of the Rockingham County Fair’s concert series.

“It is with a heavy heart and overwhelming sadness that - due to a monumental loss in our family - I must cancel my upcoming shows,” Hatcher said in a statement on his social media. “I hope to make these dates up to my fans in the future. I appreciate everyone that has lent their support to me and my loved ones. We ask that everyone please respect our family’s privacy at this time.”

Hatcher’s announcement comes after news that his parents Michael and Holly Hatcher were involved in a home invasion, in which Holly sustained fatal injuries.
