Jay is proud to lead the WHSV team as General Manager and News Director. A graduate of Emory & Henry College in southwest Virginia, Jay first started working at WHSV in 2000 after beginning his career at WCYB in Bristol, VA/TN. In 2006 Jay moved to the Roanoke market and worked at WHSV’s sister station WDBJ. In 2013, Jay returned to the Valley and WHSV.
Some of Jay’s professional accomplishments include past-president of the Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters (2018-2019); earning his NWA and AMS seals of approval in meteorology; and his alma mater’s “Alumnus of the Year” award in 2013. Jay is also a graduate of the Harrisonburg/Rockingham Chamber of Commerce BOLD (Building Optimal Leaders by Design) program in 2016-2018.
In his spare time, Jay enjoys playing golf, DIY projects and grilling on his deck. Jay’s wife is teacher in Rockingham County. The Webb’s are the proud parents to a son and daughter as well as a miniature dachshund named Daphine.
