Madison McNamee graduated from the University of Virginia in May, 2021. She joined the NBC29 team as a multimedia journalist a week later. She double-majored in Media Studies & American Studies, with a concentration in popular and visual culture.
Madison is a proud Wahoo and is elated to be staying in Charlottesville a little bit longer. At UVA, she wrote for the Cavalier Daily. During her college career she also interned with C-VILLE Weekly and was a reporter for TheSabre.com where she covered UVA athletics.
She also did media work for the Charlottesville Tom Sox and WUVA at the University of Virginia.
Madison is from Arlington, Virginia and is an avid DC sports fan. Her father and grandfather also worked in journalism, but as photojournalists. Madison is excited to carry on their legacy.
When she’s not at work, you may spot her around town on a run, or sitting in a coffee shop reading through new cooking recipes.
