He was born in Nebraska, and growing up also lived in Alabama and North Carolina before moving to Blackstone, Virginia. He played high school football for Nottoway, and graduated from JMU in 1984 with a degree in Communications (TV/Radio) and a minor in Data Processing.
He met his wife Debbie, a Harrisonburg native, in 1989 and they have one incredible daughter Danielle, an awesome son-in-law Jared, and a beautiful granddaughter Aubree.
Living in Dayton since 2005, Steve has always been a big fan of JMU sports (and the Huskers!) and he and Debbie love to attend concerts, travel, sightsee, and spend time with family and friends.
Steve’s professional career has centered on Media Advertising, Marketing and Management. After graduating from JMU, he spent 2 years as Director of the Valley Voice Radio Reading Service for the Blind in Harrisonburg, then moved to commercial radio where he did everything from DJ, to advertising copywriter, to sales.
By 2001 he became sales manager, then and GM, for several Valley radio stations before joining the WHSV family. Steve would love to put his experience to work for your business!
