Small plane makes emergency landing on Virginia highway

CULPEPER, Va. (WCAV) — Authorities in Virginia say no one was injured when a single-engine airplane made an emergency landing on a state highway.

Around 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, a small pane landed on Route 3 in Culpeper County.

Deputies arrived at Germanna Highway and Yellow Bottom Road after pilot Hyunju V. Ko made the emergency landing and the plane struck a utility pole and then a fence.

According to Virginia State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that the plane suffered engine failure after taking off from Warrenton-Fauquier Airport.

The pilot was uninjured, as were two juvenile passengers.

The crash remains under investigation. No further details were immediately released.
