Chewy Chips Ahoy recalled due to 'unexpected solidified ingredient'

CLEVELAND, OH (WHSV) — On Saturday, April 13, Mondelēz Global LLC announced a limited voluntary recall on certain Chewy Chips Ahoy 13oz cookies in the US.

There is the possibility that some of the cookies may have an "unexpected solidified ingredient," described by one customer as "hard rubber-like bits," inside them.

The company says they have received "some reports of potential adverse health effects."

According to Mondelēz Global LLC, the recall is only for the products listed below:

Best When Used By Dates:

  • 07SEP2019
  • 08SEP2019
  • 14SEP2019
  • 15SEP2019

  • (Date located on left top side of package by lift tab)

    Anyone with the product should not eat it.
