Senior Alert canceled but 75-year-old Virginia man remains missing

UPDATE (May 20):

The Senior Alert for a 75-year-old man who was last seen in Fairfax County on May 10 has been cancelled.

According to Virginia State Police, Michael Leonard Delaney has not been found, and no further leads have been discovered, but the isuance of the senior alert expired on Wednesday.

Delaney was last seen at 9:02 p.m. on May 10 when he was seen on surveillance cameras leaving Reston Hospital through Door G.

He had been at the hospital to be treated for a fall and a possible stroke.

Delaney is listed at six feet, three inches tall and weighing between 175-180 pounds with blue eyes and grey/white hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket over a yellow hospital gown, dark shoes with white soles, and dark-frame eyeglasses with a strap.

Police say he suffers from a cognitive impairment and his disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety.

The Virginia State Police issued a senior alert Monday for Michael Leonard Delaney, 75, on behalf of the Fairfax County Police Department.

Delaney was last seen May 10 around 9:00 p.m. on surveillance camera leaving Reston Hospital's Door G where he was being treated for a fall and possible stroke. He also suffers from a cognitive impairment. His disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety, according to Fairfax County Police.

Delaney is listed at six feet, three inches tall and weighing between 175-180 pounds with blue eyes and grey/white hair. He had been wearing a black jacket over a yellow hospital gown, dark shoes with white soles, and dark-frame eyeglasses with a strap when last seen.

Delaney could be wearing his wedding band, high school gem ring and black watch.
