AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) — On Tuesday night, the Augusta County Planning Commission voted to support the proposed solar farm in the Stuarts Draft area.
Quillen family land where solar panels would be placed.
They voted 5-2 that the proposal is in alignment with some or all of the county's comprehensive plan.
Planning commission member Larry Howdyshell said the comprehensive plan never addressed solar and there needs to be clear language in the plan. Howdyshell said it's something they will look at moving forward.
For now, the proposal goes back to the county's Board of Supervisors for a final decision.
