Avalanches hit town in eastern Russia

ABC Two people died on Saturday as a result of several avalanches that occurred at a village in the Khabarovsk region of Russia.

The first avalanche hit a gold mining factory, where one person was present.

A group of rescuers was deployed at the scene and were themselves hit by another avalanche.

Two of the rescuers were found dead, eight of them seriously injured.

The factory worker remains trapped inside the building, but his life isn't at risk, according to reports.
