An early morning fire on Thursday destroyed a building, damaged a nearby social hall and sent a firefighter to the hospital.
Stanley Fire Chief Terry A. Pettit said the investigation continues into how a vacant poulry house went up in flames along Auto Drive.
The building was fully-involved when firefighters arrived.
Several vehicles, mowers and other items were kept in the building and were a total loss, said Pettit.
Damage is estimated to be around $50,000.
According to Pettit, nearby Fellowship Baptist Church Social Hall sustained heat damage adding up to several thousand dollars in damage.
A Stanley firefighter was taken to the hospital for a fractured foot.
Crews remained on scene for hours to make sure the blaze would not spread after bringing it under control.
