A citywide economic initiative will soon open a community-wide office in Waynesboro.

The space will provide a place for independent, freelancing and entrepreneurial professionals to conduct their business in a more traditional environment.

"People can work without working at home and be among other people where they can bounce ideas off each other," said Courtney Cranor, the Assistant Director for the city's Economic Development and Tourism department. "There's some shared facilities there [and] there's a conference room that will be available."

In addition, the communal office will feature printing equipment and high speed internet.

The space was made possible through a grant acquired by Grow Waynesboro.

The office will be located on the second floor of the building where Farmhaus on Main is housed on W. Main Street.

Cranor expects it to open in February.
