Drivers can expect major delays on I-81 South in Shenandoah County following the crash. Traffic backups are approximately 8.0 miles.
UPDATE (5:48 p.m.):
After a crash involving a tractor trailer at mile marker 283 of I-81 South in Shenandoah County shut down all lanes for nearly an hour, the south left lane has reopened.
Delays, however, still extend about 8 miles.

A crash involving a tractor trailer has shut down all lanes of I-81 South in Shenandoah County.
According to VDOT, all southbound lanes are closed at mile marker 283. This is just south of Woodstock, in an area that has experienced multiple crashes in recent weeks.
Traffic is being diverted off the 283 exit ramp and back onto the interstate using the 283 on-ramp.
Delays are estimated at about 5 miles. Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes if possible.
