Officials say 30-year-old Frank Jesse Amnott, of Pensacola, Florida, was arrested on Monday after deputies responded to a hostage situation on Waggys Creek Road.

According to the sheriff's office, when deputies responded to the call late Sunday night, Amnott was holding a Mennonite family at gun point after breaking into their home. Amnott was arrested without incident at the scene.

He was charged with Armed Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Felony, Use of Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Abduction & Kidnapping, Attempt to Commit Non Capital Offense, and Brandishing a Firearm.

Four days after the incident, deputies are still working to understand the "why."

Deputies are actively following up on leads, but they say the connection between the victims and the suspect remains unknown.

Amnott is being held at the Rockingham Harrisonburg Regional Jail without bond. He is being charged with 14 felonies.

Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson says the investigation is very much ongoing and there were additional suspects involved.

He sent a photo of a SUV that's been identified as a vehicle of interest in the case. It's believed to be a silver Mercedes Benz SUV.

If you see that vehicle or if you have any information about this incident, you're asked to call the Crime Solvers hotline at (540) 574-5050 or the Sheriff’s Office at (540) 564-3800.
