LURAY, Va. (WHSV) — People lined up Saturday at the grand opening of Cooter's in Luray to meet several stars from "The Dukes of Hazard."

Ben Jones, known for his role as Cooter Davenport, and Tom Wopat, who played Luke Duke, were present to sign autographs and meet fans of the series.

"It was a show that was always a lot of fun[,] very family oriented and safe for kids to watch," said Wopat. "You never have an idea when you're doing a project that it is going to turn out to be iconic like this."

The store — which features a museum, diner and replica General Lee — replaced a previous location in Sperryville.

Virginia gubernatorial candidate Corey Stewart also stopped by Saturday on his way to Shenandoah County to give a speech at the G.O.P. Lincoln-Reagan Dinner.

In July, a larger event, "Cooter's Last Stand," is expected to bring both the Duke boys and possibly Daisy.
