If you are looking for something to do this weekend, there is a new type of family entertainment in the Valley.

The 'Crack the Code Escape Room' will open in Staunton on Friday night.

Beth Brown and Heather Olsen, who own the attraction, decided to open in Staunton after loving their experiences at other escape rooms.

While it's easy to get in, it requires groups to work together to use different things in the room to solve puzzles and clues to escape the room in 60 minutes or less.

"It's different than going to a bowling alley, going to a movie. Something kind of new, hopefully exciting that they'll get a kick out of because you still get out of the house you still mingle with friends and family and have fun, but it's something different," said Olsen.

Olsen added, "It's a good team-building exercise because you do, you have to communicate and work as a team so that you can get out of the room. If you don't, then you're going to struggle and it's going to be a lot harder."

The escape room is open on Fridays from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Walk ins are welcome, but you can also schedule to play online at:
