HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) — Brent Finnegan has won the primary to run as the Democratic nominee for the House of Delegates 26th District seat in November.
Finnegan defeated Catherine Copeland with 66% of the vote.
"This campaign was fueled by people power," Finnegan said. "The people showed up, knocked on doors, and got people out to the polls. I think that our message really resonated with voters who care about our planet and our economy."
Finnegan centered his campaign on the economy that benefits all people and pushing Virginia away from fossil fuels.
He will face off against Del. Tony Wilt, the Republican incumbent, in the general election.
