Fishburne Military cadets open school year with formation

Fishburne Military School has officially started the fall semester.

On Wednesday, the school held its traditional formation of the cadets ceremony, where certain cadets were promoted and given pins.

The ceremony also welcomed Delegate Steve Landes, who gave a special presentation for a former Fishburne alumnus.

School superintendent Captain Mark Black said the class of cadets are maturing quickly.

"I think they truly understand more of a servant leadership attitude and they're more looking to take care of those underneath of them than to have those underneath of them serve them," Black said.
