Grant County hosts West Virginia Board of Education Meeting

GRANT COUNTY, WVa. (WHSV) — Petersburg High School in Grant County was host to some special guests on Wednesday. The West Virginia Board of Education conducted routine business in the school's media center.

Twice a year, the board meets outside of its home location in Charleston. Grant County was one of two school systems chosen to host the board members.

"We're very proud and humbled that they are here," said Doug Lambert, Superintendent of Grant County Schools. "It gives the Board an opportunity to see what's happening in the field, and it gives us locally, an opportunity to see what occurs at a state board meeting."

The meeting kicked off with a spotlight on Grant County Schools by Lambert, and continued with discussion of legislation and policy updates about the State's education system.

"I'm very pleased with the product we have here in Grant County, and of course, in the tri-county area with Grant, Hardy, and Pendleton," said Lambert.
