HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) — Members of the Harrisonburg Police Department came out to Kline's Dairy Bar in Harrisonburg to get some ice cream and interact with the community on Thursday.
It's part of National Police Week, which Harrisonburg is celebrating by painting the Valley blue.
People got to talk to police officers, ask questions, look at police vehicles, and interact with those who protect and serve them everyday.
Children under the age of 12 received a free kid's cone, and over 100 free cones were handed out.
The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg was also on location with water and hot dogs.
