State police charged one woman after a crash in Rockingham County involving a truck and horse and buggy on Monday morning.

Lois Good, 82, of Mount Clinton, who was driving the buggy, faces a failure to yield right of way charge.

The crash happened at 10:20 a.m. at the intersection of Silver Lake Road and Cooks Creek Road, according to state police.

Police say that the buggy crossed in front of a 2004 Chevy pick-up truck, the truck hit the horse and the buggy overturned. The intersection had a stop sign, according to police.

The horse died at the scene due to injuries in the crash, while neither the truck driver nor the two people in the buggy were injured.
