On The Road Collaborative has been working with more than 90 kids from Skyline Middle School on various projects and on Tuesday, one of those projects bears fruits.

Twelve students from Skyline Middle School will take part in a mock trial on Tuesday evening at the Rockingham County Circuit courthouse on Court Square.

The trial will involve an actual judge, jury, witnesses, while the students will be the attorneys.

They have been working with practicing attorneys and law officials for several weeks and the organizer said his favorite part is the time and effort the professionals have put in for these kids.

"To see all these caring adults investing in our kids. They've been coming out, the attorneys have been coming out once a week for about an hour and a half working with our kids, they have very busy schedules, but I think that is really important, that they believe in our kids," said Brent Holsinger, the President of On The Road Collaborative.

Holsinger also said that he truly believes his job is bringing the community around a student to help children show their skills.
