Since Governor Ralph Northam's racist yearbook photo appeared from his college yearbook Attorney General Mark Herring has said that he too wore blackface in college.
Several allegations of sexual assault have also been made against Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax.
Since then Governor Northam said he will remain in his position leaving what some Valley leaders call a mess in the Commonwealth.
WHSV reached out to several local leaders and asked what actions should be taken by those in charge.
"So right now all I'm seeing from Northam is just words I want to see action behind that and Herring as well," Jennifer Lewis, the Democrat Running in Virginia's 20th District, said.
Jennifer Brown the 6th District Chair of the Republican Committee states that both Northam and Herring have failed Virginia and need to step down.
Both sides did agree that all allegations of sexual assault should be taken seriously against Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax and they support a full investigation.
