Luray police seize hundreds of grams of meth and marijuana

LURAY, Va. (WHSV) — Two people in Luray are facing felony charges after officers found them with methamphetamine during a traffic stop and then linked them to stolen guns.

According to the Luray Police Department, a K9 officer, accompanied by K9 Quba (a recent addition to the force), made a traffic stop in Luray on Tuesday. Quba indicated to the officer that there was an odor of narcotics in the vehicle, and police say the officer then found and seized about two ounces of marijuana and methamphetamine.

Acting on that seizure, police secured a search warrant for an address on Grove Road in Luray. With the help of the Page County Sheriff's Office, officers found more than 300 grams of methamphetamine, several firearms, and narcotics paraphernalia at the location.

At least two of the weapons found there were previously reported stolen.

Jason E. Sours Sr. was arrested for Possession of Schedule I/II Narcotics with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Firearm while being involved in the Distribution of a Schedule I/II Narcotic.

Amanda N. Catoe was arrested for Possession of Schedule I/II Narcotics with the Intent to Distribute and Possession of a Firearm while being involved in the Distribution of a Schedule I/II Narcotic.

The investigation is still underway.
