Deputies release more surveillance photos of Augusta County counterfeiting suspect

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) — The Augusta County Sheriff's Office has released more surveillance photos of a man they say has passed multiple counterfeit $100 bills at stores around the Shenandoah Valley.

Deputies say they took reports from five local retailers in Stuarts Draft, Fishersville, Crimora, Verona, and Weyers Cave.

At each store, a man allegedly passed a fake $100 bill to purchase gift cards.

Investigators have not said if the incidents may be connected to a similar counterfeiting investigation in Covington this past weekend.
