Community leaders in our area coming together for a good cause, and to help fill the bellies of the hungry.

Today, public figures from the City of Harrisonburg, WHSV, the Harrisonburg Police Department, and several other organizations came out to help Valley Program for Aging Services deliver their Meals on Wheels.

Delegate Steve Landes even showed up to deliver some meals as well. For him, he gets a chance to see one program up-close that is a hot topic these days.

"It will give us first-hand experience, and there is a lot of discussion in Washington about a lot of different federal programs, I don't know exactly what is going to happen from a budgetary standpoint," said Landes, who is the Republican Delegate for the 25th House District.

Today also gave the leaders around our area a chance to talk, and maybe even collaborate in the future.
