STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) -- Nearly 400 students are graduating from Mary Baldwin University for the school's 175th commencement this weekend.

The university said the oldest graduate from the class of 2017 is 71-year-old Janet Almquist, a Baldwin Online and Adult Program student who is earning a degree in criminal justice.

The youngest is 16-year-old Spencer Sigtryggsson, who began college early thanks to MBU’s Program for the Exceptionally Gifted.

WHSV spoke with Brooke Wiles, 18, who will graduate on Sunday and plans on getting her masters in public health abroad.

"I'm really excited," Wiles said. "I know it will be a bit of a cultural shock, but it's something I'm really passionate about so I'm really happy to get started with that and I'm so grateful for the foundation that Mary Baldwin has provided me to do that with."

The graduation is set to take place Sunday at 10 a.m. in front of the campus dining hall.
