Senator Mark Warner is co-sponsoring a bill allowing Virginians to cross the state border to get Cannabidiol (CBD) oil.

Some experts say the oil can greatly reduce seizures, and it is legal in Virginia.

However, it is not produced in Virginia, and patients must cross state borders to get the oil. This practice makes them open to federal prosecution.

This bill would allow families to get the benefits of the oil without repercussions.

"In some of the clinical trials that Dr. Lyons has been running, he has had one child that has gone from wheelchair, to being able to walk now. Kids from having 300 seizures, to only having two or three a day," said Gina Washington, the Regional Director of the Epilepsy Foundation Of Virginia.

The bill that allows patients to have the oil in Virginia just passed in this year's general assembly.
