Group eyes Downtown Waynesboro as sight for new children's museum

Those hoping to create a new place for kids to learn and explore in the valley are pushing forward with their efforts.

Karen Orlando, founder of the non-profit Blue Ridge Children's Museum, said people behind the project are hoping to establish a permanent location in Downtown Waynesboro at some point next year.

The museum would educate children on a variety of topics, including science, art and technology.

"Whenever you want to go to something like that, you have to travel 30 to 45 minutes to get to one, even longer," said Orlando.

Earlier this year, Cool Breeze Farm

for the effort during their annual Fall Fling.

Orlando said they are accepting donations toward the future
