AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) — A Crimora man was killed in a crash on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Virginia State Police, who are investigating the crash, a 1995 Toyota Tercel was driving west on Crimora Mine Rd. when, in the 300 block of the road, the driver lost control and ran off the right side of the road, striking a ditch.

Police say the car flipped at least twice before coming to a stop on its roof against an electric pole just off of the roadway.

The driver, identified as 27-year-old Jeremy M. Crites, of Crimora, was ejected during the crash and died at the scene. Crites was the only person in the vehicle and not wearing a seat belt, according to police.
