HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV)-- Postcards To Paris is a local effort in what is a worldwide movement
The group's goal is to establish new policies regarding climate change and it all starts with the Paris Climate Summit on November 30.
The Paris Climate Summit is being billed as a conference that can "change the planet," and Postcards to Paris agrees.
They will be joining thousands of other Postcards To Paris groups that are sending their cards to leaders of the conference.
Their big kickoff event is this coming Sunday, but they've been working hard already on putting up a 32-foot-tall Eiffel Tower replica because they see this as a great chance to make a difference.
"The need is very great. Climate change is one of humanity's most urgent issues, but it's also one of humanity's greatest opportunities. It's a chance to bring all of us together to call for the things we really need to see in our world," said Tom Benevento, an organizer of the local Postcards To Paris group.
They are looking for real reforms in our world and action from the summit.
Postcards To Paris has an event at Pale Fire Brewing on November 29 where they will all sign a giant postcard and send it to the summit.
