While many are focusing on whether or not to bring Syrian refugees into the U.S., others are focusing on Hispanic immigration and families.

On Friday, members of Virginia Organizing went to Bob Goodlatte's office in Harrisonburg to stand in support U.S.-born children of undocumented immigrants. Two executive orders providing relief to such children are on the way to the U.S. Supreme Court after having been turned down by an appeals court.

While Congressman Goodlatte was not in his office, demonstrators still wanted to deliver their message.

"I'm sure he would want to be in favor of keeping families together," said Virgina Organizing member Bob Franks. "That would be a value that I think he would share," Franks said. "So take the leadership in a positive view rather than the kind of negative things that have been said."

While there, members also expressed concern over the current Syrian refugee debate.

"We ought to open our arms and have more come in, because that's what we're about," an emotional Franks went on to say. "You just see it on the news night after night and it's terrible what's happening to the refugee," Franks said. "We're thinking about them."

Congressman Goodlatte said he does not support the President's plan to bring in Syrian refugees to the U.S.
