Proposed TN bill would require diaper changing stations in all public bathrooms

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) — A new bill proposed in Tennessee would make things a bit easier for parents with young children.

The proposal would require all newly-constructed public buildings in the state to include a diaper-changing station.

The station would have to be accessible to both women and men.

Representative Jason Potts of Nashville is introducing the bull that would be required in any newly constructed building or any public building that spends more than $10,000 on a bathroom renovation.

The bill comes one month after New York passed a law that all men's bathrooms include a changing table.

In 2016, President Obama signed a law requiring all federal facilities to have changing tables.
